New Shrimp Food – Shrimp Cuisine

Hikari has released their newest food intended for freshwater Dwarf Shrimp. Here is a brief excerpt from their website:

Shrimp Cuisineâ„¢ has been developed after considerable research into the nutritional requirements of delicate and higher end shrimp. A formulation utilizing a wide range of ingredients including vegetable matter herbivorous shrimp prefer especially seaweed and spirulina.

This food does contain small amount of copper according to their website:

Contains copper which aids blood regeneration

When we contacted Hikari, they stated that the copper was in the form of Copper sulfate and in very low concentration. Copper is used in aquatic invertebrate to aid in oxygen transport, but can be toxic at low levels.
