The Shrimp Farm started in 2005 as a blog written by marine biologist Dan Hagen.
Dan’s goal was to share helpful information about feeding, breeding, and caring for dwarf shrimp with fellow hobbyists. Eventually, Dan progressed to selling select breeds, such as ghost and cherry shrimp, along with a few shrimp-keeping supplies.

The Shrimp Farm changed hands over the years, and each owner grew its selection.
Today, the international name in shrimp-keeping is headed by Ryan Curtis and Ryan Crowley, two serious shrimp enthusiasts. While product variety and shipping distance have grown massively, The Shrimp Farm’s goals have largely remained the same: To share the joys of shrimp-keeping with hobbyists of all levels.

We love keeping and breeding freshwater aquarium shrimp and want to build the community and make it accessible for everyone.
